INDIAN BAR ASSOCIATION 20th APRIL, 2017
The
Indian Bar Association (IBA) has sent a
representation to the Chief Justice of India Justice J.S.
Khekar against Dr. Manjulla
Chellur Chief Justice of Bombay High Court,
containing fifteen serious charges of being incompetent to discharge official
duties alongwith proofs, evidences, CD’s and sting
operations and has prayed for immediate withdrawal of work from Chief Justice
Smt. Chellur. IBA has also
prayed CJI for issuance and direction to C.B.I. to file a charge-sheet in an appropriate Court alongwith recovery of all the payments and salaries taken
by her which she enjoyed while holding a post for which she was incompetent. IBA also sent request letters to all Bar Associations in
Maharashtra to pass separate resolutions in this regard and send their
representation the Chief Justice of India. Earlier in the case of C. Ravichandran Vs. Justice A.M. Bhattacharjee,
(1995) 5 SCC 457, the two Bar Associations of Bombay
i.e. Bombay Bar Association (BBA) and Advocate Association of Western India (AAWI) had passed a resolution against the Chief Justice of
Bombay High Court following which he had to resigned from the post.
